How to Not Get Overwhelmed by All the AI News
Feeling Intense Pressure in This Time Is Normal for Many, but Shouldn’t Be the Default.
I do, too. I feel the intense pressure we as a society put on each other.
To achieve more, to make more money, to leverage everything you can find, and let’s be honest, many are reading articles like this to get some insights on how to improve their business, or find something that makes them more money otherwise.
I completely understand this.
At least, when you feel stuck in a 9–5 that doesn’t fulfill you.
This article won’t give you advice on making more money, but I think it will give you something more important.
Learning to Understand The Problem
Let us begin. First, ask yourself: What do you do when you feel stressed?
What do you do when you feel the pressure to perform or to achieve more because you fear that in the future (or present), what you have won’t be enough?
How do you feel in those moments? Do you feel a rush of adrenaline? Does it feel good or kind of limiting or pressuring? This will help you find out more about the problem and where it stems from, helps you observe yourself more often in such moments which can help you relax when the pressure of your mind comes again.
Set Limits: Information Consumption Can Be Addictive
Just like social media, consuming news, especially about something as captivating as AI, can be addictive. Set limits on how much time you spend reading about AI or similar things (such as making money online) each day. Maybe allocate 30 minutes in the morning or during lunch.
Stick to these limits to prevent information overload.
Use Curated Sources: Let Experts Do the Filtering
Instead of jumping from one website to another, find a few curated sources or newsletters that resonate with your interests. Let them do the heavy lifting of filtering through the news.
For example, this newsletter:) Get mails when I post by signing up here.
Take a Break: Disconnect to Reconnect
Sometimes, the best way to deal with the overwhelm is to take a step back. Disconnect from the news, social media, and even work-related reading about AI.
Spend this time doing activities that relax you or allow you to reconnect with other interests.
This can also help you to get more creative when you encounter a certain problem in your day-to-day life. Spending time reflecting or outside the current task helps you see the big picture.
Reflecting on What We Just Learned
So as you learn to understand where the problem stems from (you don’t have to name it), you will get clearer emotional and mental insights into how your psyche works, and when you tap into a fear-based mindset, You begin to set limits, focus your time more on newsletters and sources that give you just what you need, and from time to time, when you know you should, you will take a break.
Maybe this article won’t help. In my case, I will try to do the things mentioned above more often, but it is not easy with all the surrounding pressure. So give yourself some patience and time. You don’t have to do anything that is written here, but in the long term, it will be beneficial.
Thanks a ton for reading, hope you could gain some insights. If you did, why not follow and share on X or other social media? This will help me immensily, as I would like to write here more, but have not enough time to invest into the growth of AIToolsToday. Your support is appreciated.
